Coming to the steel guitar celebration.

Post by Steven Black »

Hey Rick, I will be coming to the celebration, looks like a good lineup for the show, hope to see mike sigler play, and eat chips and salsa at the same time.

Rick I love the seat I got for Christmas...I'm growing attached to it, which is a good thing. Means I practice more. Looking forward to the show this year, always willing to pitch in on the guitar if needed. Take care! Chaz

Rick, I just want to say what a great time I had Sunday at the Wheeling show listening to you and Mike. You guys are always an inspiration to me. Two of my favorite players back to back. Where did you guys find that lead/rhythm player?
Thanks for the invite to play at your show. I'm honored to help in any way I can.

Well Glory !!!

Just talked to the Legendary Mr.Kayton Roberts and he has agreed to play the 2010 Celebration!! One of the true remaining original stylists on the steel guitar. I hope everyone is as excited as I am about him being on the show. Not only allot of history but an incredible talent on the steel. You'll swear he has pedals at times.

He is also bringing with him a wonderfully talented singer song writer from Ashland Kty by the name of Rob McNurlin. Kayton says if you like country,REAL country you'll love Rob!

You can visit www.hummingbirdmusicstudio.com for more info updated 3times a week . Rick

Rick, we met Kayton a few years ago at a steel show. He is truly a gifted player.
For those who missed your opening jam yesterday we had a great turn out and some great players and vocals. It was so good to see everyone again.

Hey Rick, sounds like it will be a good time. I thought about volunteering to play "Touring that City" if you'd play the mandolin with me. The only problem is we'd have to find a basement to play in so we could get those "special effects". :D

Hi Dan,

No problem on the special effects. I'll bring the weed eater, mower and chain saw. You can fake the chipper on your steel .

Seriously though you would be more than welcome to play the Friday night jam and include a couple of your songs from the album. I'd ask you to play Sunday morning but you're probably busy. Your job is really holding your steel career down . Rick

Oh yes, the chipper!! I think I've forgotten how to do that! :?

Anyway, I'll be in touch with you. Thanks.

Celebration

Post by DeWitt Scott »

Hi Rick, The show in Davenport got cancelled but I never heard about it quick enough for you to add me to the show. I did call you and left a message with one of your guitar instructors for you to call me but that didn't happen. Kayton Roberts is a very fine player and an excellent entertainer as well. He is one of my favorite non pedal players and I'm sure your people will enjoy his playing. I will certainly miss being with you and please think of me in 2012. Scotty

WOW! Only two weeks away. Getting excited.Hope everyone is making plans to attend.

Things are still getting lined up but they are coming together. It's an all-star line up you won't want to miss. By the way, Rob McNurlin is coming along with Kayton Roberts . Rob is an awesome songwriter/singer/entertainer you'll really enjoy. A whole lot country with a little "HillBilly Rock" thrown in. You might have guessed that as he's shared thestage with Marty Stuart.I'm really looking forward to him perorming with Mr.Roberts .

That's all for now. I'll post more details next week . Hopefully all will be finalized by then ! Rick
