I've noticed a few posts talking about practice boards. Exactly what is a practice board? Do you tune one? Does it have strings? Are they for lap steels only? etc. I'm looking for something to travel with without lugging my lap steel with me because air travel and instruments are geting to be a big pain in the _ _ _! Thanks, George

Search for "BSG Steel Guitars."
There's a picture of one.
I've bought parts from him, and he's a great guy to deal with.

While I can see where a little board like that could be useful for some, I'd want something that made some music if traveling.
Maybe what the world needs is a super compact keyless travel steel. You could even build in a small 9v amp if you wanted.

Tom, yes, with a mini-headphone out. I've been traveling with an old keyless Magnatone and a little 9V Vox amp, but the string spacing was so wide it seemed to be throwing me off when I played my Asher at the gig.
