Twin with a JBL, in Johnson cabs. I can't stand solid state amps. Well,,,, the old Lab wasn't bad. But the Vegas? It was a great day when I got rid of it! No beef with Peavey, I just don't like the sound of solid state.

I use a Vibro Champ .
If I need a bit more power I use a Peavey Classic 20 If that's not enough the other Classic 20 gets a run .

I play through either a '67 Bassman head into an Acoustic 1-15 loaded with an Altec, or an early Evans FET 500 custom, high voltage. I talked to Mr. Evans about the amp, his is number 7050, mine is 7049; he said they made 50 in 1970 out of left over all-tube chassis, with the tubes replaced with solid state components mounted where the tubes had been. 250 watts of bone crushing tone. Outside I played it on 3. Has a JBL E-130.

I am Peavey Poor:
Session
Nashville 500
Vegas 400
Nashville 400 with Lemay mod and 1402 Black Widow ... Always go to it when the pressure is on. I got sold on the Nashville during the years Emmons was playing them. St Louis has never been quite the same to me since he guit comming.

Use 614E Webb at home quite a often, but sometimes have trouble finding the right settings in a strange room when I take it out. When I get it right I am very happy with it. Use a 1402 Black Widow in it.

Revelation or Tonic preamp w/ TC Furlong cabinets for most gigs.

Nashville 400 for rehearsals or quick grab-n-go gigs.

I have a line on a mid-60's Fender Princeton at a great price. Is this going to be a good match for my lapsteels or too much amp for my modest requirements?

Should be a nice match. Only about 11 watts. But can be modded up to 20 watts with a very simple phase inverter mod.

Marshall JCM2000 Dual Super Lead 100W into closed-back (Crate) cabinet reloaded with 2x12" Celestion Classic Lead 80's.

DSL's are known for great Marshall "cleans," and of course it can roar.

NV 400 is good for loud gigs.
Fender Deluxe Reverb with a JBL grayback 12" .. for small gigs thats the one
sonic sustain and clarity at low volumes.
Fender Vibrasonic for louder inbetween gigs
sometimes the NV 400 and the Vibrasonic together for a really big show.

N112. Had 2 N1000 which are fine but there is a bunch of diff in the weight .N112 a lot easier to handle and will still do the job anywhere. Jack

Larry, have you got a photo of that old Sho-Bud Christmas Tree amp? Man, I haven't seen one of those in years. I played through one once and it had a really great sound (it was for sale and I almost bought it but someone beat me to the punch).

Well I am the odd one out as I have used a Polytone minibrute boosted with an MXR micro amp + MXR graphic since early 70s and my back appreciated it
