I have a Peavey KB-100. I've used it with my Remington Steel 8.

If I replace the existing speaker with the Fender Steel King speaker;

( 15" Custom Eminence 4 ohm Cast Frame Speaker with Ceramic Magnet, p/n 0064398000 )

Would this help the KB-100 be more (sound more) of a Steel Amp?
Thanks

What size and type speaker is currently in the amp? (my guess would be a Scorpion). IMO,changing the speaker may not make a noticeable difference in tone. If the amp has a separate tweeter however, (most larger keyboard amps do), you may want to install an inline on/off switch and disable the tweeter when using the amp for steel guitar.

Hi David,
It does have a tweeter, but I just realized a snag.
The amp is set up for 8 ohm and the Fender Steel King is an 4 ohm speaker.
The KB 100 also has just a single pair of outputs. Maybe that'll will present an issue also.
The Fender runs 200 RMS watts and the KB 100 runs 75 RMS.

I'm beginning to think this will not produce an acceptable sound.

Thanks for the reply!
