Reece And Bobbe!
Moderator: Dave Mudgett
Reece, I think the "Slide Off" is a great name. Certainly no infringement on anything. Matter of fact, I'd love to see this become popular.
I believe Bill McCloskey coined that one and I can envision "Slide Offs" being held both separately and at PSG Shows throughout the country.
This really gives pedal players something different to stretch out on, and as many know, this can become addicting.
I hope to host another dobro workshop next winter and I have all intentions of another Slide Off.
[This message was edited by HowardR on 18 May 2005 at 04:28 AM.]

Reece and Bobbe playing non-pedal, wow! This is going to be just great. Wish I could be there ....
It reminds me of the old days when we played a lot of good music before pedals.......al

First off: Reece you should know better - That using my term Slide Off would not be an infringment but an honor. Call it what you want, but feel free to call it a Slide Off if you want.
Second, I'm going to see if I can make it down for this. Don't know if I can fit it into my schedule or not, but it sounds like something not to be missed.

Charles T....Sorry if it appears I overlooked your post. As you can see by the time, I was writing when you posted your comments.
I haven't forgotten our conversation concerning beautiful Tyler Texas and playing for the E.T.S.G.A. Hopefully we can "git er done" in the near future.
HowardR....I agree with you in that non pedal steel is something different with which to musically stretch out.
In addition, it has been my experience, playing non pedal steel "exercises the mind" while defining mental procedures as well as musical manuevers, positioning and physical response, all of which transfers to pedal steel.
Bill C....I hope you can arrange your schedule so you can attend. It would be great to meet you.

Garland N....I hear you are a very good player. I'll be anxious to meet you and hear you play.
Steve H....I'm sure Bobbe has already made the special arrangements for you. I recall him mentioning something about a limo and a red carpet.
Eric W....Surely there's a "key" with which to "break the code" concerning your post, but if so, it's well hidden.
So....what does Superman, Lex Luthor, The Fortress Of Solitude, pink kryptonite, Jim Nabors, and a group picture, have in common with non pedal steel guitar players and friends getting together and having a great time....inquiring minds want to know
