My experience with James is great.
His Shobud parts are the best replacements I've seen and his improvements make some parts work better than ever.
James has been a great help refurbing my '73 LDG.
I live in the Netherlands and email works great for me.
Since James has posted that he is making and selling Shobud parts he did get an increase of 500% in incoming emails.
In general I get a reply to my emails to James the same day which is a lot better than many manufacturers and supliers.
I thinks he's the best for parts, knowledge and support when it comes to upgrading and refurbing Shobuds.

I am new to the world of pedal steel guitars, and I have purchased some items from James. He (and his entire family) have been very gracious, very responsive and just all around great individuals to deal with.
James has provided much advice and great insight to me, simply from the goodness of his heart. The world needs more people like James. Just Awesome.
I have a background in manufacturing, and I can tell you from my experience that these parts are extremely high quality. I can't wait until I grab a "new" Sho Bud!
Thanks, James!

James is the man for making these parts for sure.
Now is the time to pull the (80 trillion) broken Sho-Buds out from the sheds and make 'em killer guitars.
Thanks James for your dedication to bringing back some old Buds to their original glory.
(Hopefully the Hogs didn't eat those gumby headstocks off some of these old girls)

Thanx for the nice comments, fellas. I have had a couple folks say they PM'ed me, but I never got the messages. It's best to contact me through my email shobud@windstream.net
It's frustrating to be missed. It is my policy to answer every email I get, and answer every phone call I recieve, and as soon as I get the message. Communication is of utmost importance to me.

This week I installed some more new parts on my LDG and I'm impressed with the quality.
It's great to be able to swap corroded old parts with the parts that James sent me.
No mods or changes needed. A perfect fit.
One 'problem' I foresee is that I am so happy with the looks of the (almost completed) refurb of my LDG that it will be difficult to have that shiny undercarriage face the floor...

Wow, just looking at those end-plates makes me regret not having a Sho-Bud!
I know from other posts and threads that there are sometimes issues with original Sho-Bud end-plates so I have a feeling these will be a popular item for 'Bud rebuilders.
Of course, CNC'd from 6061 means they could conceivably be used to build a Boeing!

The steel guitar is a hard mistress. She will obsess you, bemuse and bewitch you. She will dash your hopes on what seems to be whim, only to tease you into renewing the relationship once more so she can do it to you all over again...and yet, if you somehow manage to touch her in that certain magic way, she will yield up a sound which has so much soul, raw emotion and heartfelt depth to it that she will pierce you to the very core of your being.
