David Ball-What a Show

Post by Henry Matthews »

Just had David Ball at the Oaklawn Opry here in Texarkana Friday night. I had the honor to play steel and fiddle with him and we had a packed house. David is a real gentleman and such a great singer and entertainer. His band members were also just fantastic. Here's a couple pics----Henry

You're so right. David Ball is a great, but often overlooked country singer.

Sounds like a great gig, Henry. I just dusted off David's "Thinkin' Problem" CD last week because I hadn't heard it in awhile and it was just the way I remembered - country music the way it should be with lots of pedal steel.

David is to be here the first of May at a local club. My friends band will open for him. Did he have a selection of things to sell or just CD's?

I like David Ball and have three of his CD's. The one I like best is "Starlight Lounge". He uses Paul Franklin on steel for this one. I have been working on three of the songs recently. Just good music and vocals.

Henry, thanks for the pics. David appeared in our area recently--north AL-south Tn line. Didn't get to see him, but heard it was a good show. Hope he comes back in the near future.
