Nice clip, we were able to see this line-up around 87 or so just before we left Ct. Terry was indeed kickin butt !

Not sure when but shortly after this Terry started playing Derby Steels, not even sure when they first hit the market, probably right around the early 90's or so...

I was at that 'Live In London' show - some of the best country music I've ever heard!

As for Terry Crisp (who I first heard on Skagg's '91 album 'Love's Gonna Get Ya') he remains one of the very best players out there! I believe he also did a spell with Joe Nicholls on the road. He's pretty scary!

I see the mike that Ricky Skaggs is using on the BBC show AND the "Live In London" 1985, is the same. Most unusual for the BBC to allow ANYONE to use anything other than BBC equipment. What I'd like to know, is what make and model that particular mike is ? PLEASE gurus..

Baz:

I recall doing a country music festival in the UK where Skaggs was appearing - that mic had its own flight case and was treated with as much reverence as was his early-1940s D-28 Martin.

I know nothing about it except that it had (apparently) tubes (valves to you and me) inside....

Tony, FWIW. Terry started with MCI in early 87. Then EMCI and then Derby in March of 92. But there was always an Emmons or 2 there at the house.
