Jon, I just clicked on Choices played by David Hartley on you-tube and it is one of the beautiful sounds that I have ever experienced. I don't have my PSG yet but I have sent the money in for a stageone. To me songs like this are what playing PSG is all about. Learning to play this song will be a must for me.

That song ws written for George Jones by my great friend "Billy Yates"
This was one of only two songs for which "George Jones" got a grammy.
David Hartley got to play PSG for Billy in England last year.
Billy also wrote "I Don't Need Your Rocking Chair".
Visit billy at www.billyyates.com
Kind regards

John, do you know if there is a way to purchase the tablature and backing track for this song. I know that I can't play it now but I will feel alot better knowing I have it waiting for me in my own safe place.
I was on youtube maybe 4 weeks ago and I discovered David Hartley. His music is heavenly,I have never heard anything even close to as beautiful as his pedal steel music. I now listen to his youtube music every day for hours. "Choices" is the song that I love the most. Now I have to learn to play the PSG, I am hooked in a big way.I have been buying everything that I need to learn and play. Also my wife has no idea. I am going to hide it from her until I know two songs, so she can't say "I don't believe you spent money on that and you don't even know how to play it". I really love her and you can't find a better wife. I've been with her sense she was 15yrs old and now she's 54yrs old. I have this day dream, she pulls her car into the drive way and I have the windows open in the house. I see her car pull in, I turn on the backing track and start to play "Choices". She hears the beautiful music and can't beleve her ears and eyes when she sees me and my pedal steel guitar and everything is great.
I'll bet this sounds stupid, maybe I should delete it. OH I don't know. Duane |

Duane
That's quite a dream and I sure do hope you realise that dream one day.
I will ask David if he has tabbed out "Choices", if he hasn't I could put something down for you.
I used to play it out of my head. It isn't like David Hartley plays thou.
The track is not available, it is Billy Yates personal studio track, that we used with his permission.
David is a good player to aim to play like, but you have picked one to the best to emulate and believe me to play like David, you would need his hands head and brain.
Send me an email and tell me about your steel guitar and set-up. I will try and help if I can.

Duane and John,
Emailed David, and he posted in another thread that he is going to do the tablature for "Choices", and offer it for sale on his web site.
