Hi,
Longtime lurker and steel student of Roy Thomson's looking to meet, hear and play with steelers on the big island in the next few weeks. Any tips on good venues and upcoming events greatly appreciated!
(Brad feel free to move this, I wasn't sure where to post it.)
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
Kona Bob will be your best resource for steel guitar especially in the Kona area.
He is very personable.
Tell him Don Kona Woods from the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Assn told you to contact him.
He invited us HSGA Hawaiian Steel Guitar players down about 3 years ago to perform in Kona. We had about 10 steel guitarists for the occasion. Had a great time. An oh, that pole bass is something.
Aloha,
Don
