Jim, Thanks for a great show. I do think you will need a larger place next time. I know Saturday night was standing room only.
Wish I had felt better and could have helped out but count me in for the next one.
All the artists did a great job. Also hats off to Wayne and Paul for doing a great job on the sound system.

Jim,
Jean and I just want to thank you and your lovely wife Patty, for a great week-end. You would never know that this was a "1st" show. It was like you have been doing these shows all along. We had such a great time and we want to thank everyone for all of the help they gave us. The back-up band was great and really done a great job.
It really makes for a great week-end when you have all of these things and they click.
Thanks again and tell Bonnie "hello".

Jim,
I wanted to say thanks again for inviting me to play your show this past weekend. I had a great time there, and the hospitality was second to none from everyone. It was great playing to a packed house, and I could see everyone was having a really great time at this show. The back up band were all first class musicians, and I know that was very much appreciated by every performer who played. It was without question one of the best shows I've been to, and I'm really looking forward to the next one. A special thanks to you, Jim, and to the entire staff of people you had at this show.

Jim,
Great weekend! I had a great time and so did Sara. You and Patty will need a few days to recover after all the hard work. I know your efforts will be widely recognized in the Steel Guitar community. The credit goes to you and Patty, all the great players you invited and your team of hard working staff. Congradulations!
Thanks for dragging me back into performing. I really wasn't sure I could do it. I was away a long time but the show and your confidence was what I needed to get back! I'll be looking forward to the next one.

Thanks Jim for a great show and allowing me to be a part of it. If your goal was to make everyone feel special and I was told it was, you certainly succeeded in a big way. What is so great about these shows are the fellowship and getting to spend time with old friends and making new ones. Where else can players like us go to listen to and hang out with so many of our Steel Guitar heroes in one place like Doug Jernigan, Herby Wallace, Russ Hicks, Randy Beavers, John Hughey, Jerry Brightman, Mike Sigler, David Decker, Rick Troyer, and all the others. Turn the clock back to the 60’s and 70’s. Can you imagine a show like this being held back then? Of course some of them were not old enough to be playing. Anyway, Jim I just wanted to comment on the set you played with John Hughey. I know it was a thrill to do so, and you sounded great. Thanks again for a wonderful time this past weekend.
[This message was edited by Chuck Campbell on 26 April 2005 at 08:01 AM.]

Hi, Jim . I wish that i could have made the show but couldn't this time . It looks like you had a great time to say the least . When John Hughey is in a show it has to be great . John has been my inspiration for many years now . I wish more of him would rub off on me and i'm sure i'm not alone when i say this . Best regards,,,Gary .

I just wanted to say that this is one of the finest shows I have done. Jim Thompson did it first class all the way. First, and most important to me, was a good backup band. My old buddy Rick Troyer playing guitar is a tremendous musician and one of the most tasteful guitar players I have worked with, plus he can read the charts and play all the passing and substitute chords which really puts the icing on the cake, so to speak. Another thing that impressed me about Jim's show were the guys handling the equipment. They carried everything and with me being lazy anyway, this really helped. Seriously though, this way I wasn't worn out from moving equipment before I had to play. Next, the hotel was great and there were some excellent restaurants close by. Also, I must say that Jim did do it right, because the turnout was one of the best I have ever seen for a first time show. He has already out grown the room we were in. For those of you that missed this show you really missed a good one as the lineup was great.
Thanks Jim for inviting me.

Well, what can I say. I'm still high after a week. The show was even more than I expected. Thanks to some great people on the staff. My wife and the girls at the registration table took a lot of the load off me so I could do other things - Tracy, Lenora, Karen, Cindy. Tom Gilbert just did anything and everything that was needed. Bonnie Gilbert was at the raffle table almost all weekend, except when John Hughey sang Happy Birthday to her and persented her with the flowers. She's also my flight instructor and said I'll pay for that one on my next flight review. Tommy Allison and Buddy James carried more equipment last week than they ever knew existed. That makes the show a great one, not just a good one. Right Herby??? The staff band was exceptional. I know that was a question at one point but they withstood the test quite well. Alan Coldiron and Jennifer Filby on bass, Bobby Lee Moxley and J D Scott on drums, Rick Troyer, Lonnie Coots, Roger Hoard, and even Russ Hicks on lead guitar, Linda Griffith on keys and Bob Banergee on fiddle. Great job, by some great friends.
Mike Sigler, Always a great performer and super nice guy and good friend. Thanks for the items for the raffle too. I was honored to play bass for you on your set.
Don B. Glad you were able to make it after your surgery. Hope you survived the weekend OK.
Dave Decker- Great performance and thanks for the use of your CD burner. Thanks for bringing your wife Lenora to help too.
John Hughey- Always a pleasure to have around. Hope you enjoyed the trip to Bonnie's place at the airport. Thank you so much for sharing my set with me on Sunday. It was truly a highlight of my playing career. Hope I didn't mess up too bad. If we ever do it again, we'll do something we know next time.
Roger- You sang great with Chick, and Rick's playing was super on steel and guitar. With out him I would have been lost for a lead player.
Danny H.- What a great bunch of people from Jagwire. The Steelin' Time Trio and the girls backing them. Really added to the show. I still want that steel Danny. It's too pretty.
Steve Porter- That year in Kuwait didn't hurt your playing at all. Glad you were able to be here with us, and Thank You for your service to our country. Great job.
Randy Beavers- Superb job, even with a bad shoulder. I know you were in pain but it didn't show in your playing. The snow was just something extra, No charge for that. Thanks again to you and Russ for a real treat. Being last on Sunday is not a fun spot to have but you guys did it great.
Jerry Brightman- What a great job. I know you had a lot on your mind with your step dad being ill, and I certainly appreciate what you did for the show. Hope all is well at home now.
Phil - Very inspiring Gospel Show Sunday morning. Hope your drummner is OK now.
Chuck Campbell- Nice motorhome. Good to see you again, and great job playing.
Chick- Thanks for helping make it possible. Super job playing both days.
Greg- Why did it make Kim cry? It wasn't really all that bad was it. Is she OK now?
Lance Schnur- Tremendous job. One of the best kept secrets on steel around this area.
Gary Preston- You missed it. What more can I say.
Herby- What else can I say. The anchor man for a lot of shows. Add this one to that list now. He really does play better when he doesn't have to move equipment around. The owner at the Tower resturant said to thank you for helping him pay for the ad in the program with your patronage.
All in all, it has been a very rewarding expierence doing this first show. We were able to break even and get invited back for the next one. I WILL look for a bigger place for April 2007.
Thank you all so much.
