I am considering buying a Fender 8 string lap steel which I saw in a local music store. I kinda wanted to get an idea of what it is worth.

It has the legs, 2 pickups and a tweed case. It is dark brown in color. It is in reasonably good condition, no big dings, etc. It does have a lot of cracks in the paint but the paint does not appear to be pealing off.

It sounds good. I would estimate it to be made in the mid 60's however I know nothing about lap steels.

I'm sorry I don't have a picture but maybe someone could give me a ball park of it's value.

Thanks

Sounds like a Fender Deluxe 8. Does it look like this? I've seen them go for anywhere from $600-$700 on up. The tweed case indicates to me a 50's model which to me sound better than the 60's models
