As someone not inclined to lug heavy transformers around I was glad to be able, at long last, to take delivery of my 230 V Nashville 1000 amp converted by a local electronics engineer named Hugo Brügger. He lists the following features of the modded amp: 1) the weight is a little less than that of the original; 2) improved reverb; 3) less hum interference with the pickup. This information may be interesting to N 1000 owners in Europe. The modification involved a great deal of research into the circuitry (Peavey was not supportive), and the technology will NOT be available in kit form because it is too complicated, according to Hugo. However, he is offering the conversion of a Nashville 1000 chassis sent to his workshop in Switzerland. Possibly, a converted complete N1000 amp will be available, although the supply is questionable, as the amp is no longer in production. If interested, send me an e-mail.

Hans
Is Hugo related to Hucky Brugger who worked for Peavey in Zurich in the early 80's?
Regards

I thought it might be Hans.
Can you send him my best wishes please - he will know me as Ken, the steel player with Rose Marie at the Hirschen in Zurich. He's a great guy, and helped me out no end when my PV Session 500 caused me problems over there. He loaned me a new Nashville 400, and even gave me a guided tour of the Peavey (Zurich) warehouse.
Regards to you too.

Hi Hans, is your friend able to provide some documentation on what is involved ... we use 240v down-under as well, and with the correct information I may be able to get my NV1000 converted - and throw away the transformer !
thanks mate _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Paddy: I just talked with Hugo AKA Hucky (pronounced hookey). He said he recently joined the forum and also saw your post. You may want to visit his profile http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=9526
He said he is going to post a reply on this thread addressing your request and the issues involved with such a modification. So you'll get it directly 'from the horse's mouth'. |

Hi Paddy
Unfortunately I can't make Dallas due to work commitments, but I will be touring the USA sometime in the next 12 months.
