They are so heavy and I'm too old and out of shape and it would be too har for my wife to carry. I had two different ones years ago. Great amps.

session 500's

Post by Mark Dershaw »

I don't hear a lot of good about the session 500's here on the forum. I own 2 of them and have been playing through them for years. Not sure if I could use another amp!

Much good has been said

Post by David Kellogg »

A lot of good things have been said about the Session 500, one of the best amps out there. The only problem is many of the members here can't lug them around like they used to and that is the only negative thing I have ever heard about them here on the forum.

Session 500's

I guess I didn't mean that people bad mouth them, I just don't see people talking about them at all. I haven't been a member here for very long so there may have been some threads that I missed.

Session 500

Post by autry andress »

Once the Session 500 is dailed in It's had to find a better tone anywhere. Very road worthy. The weight was the main Issure. A steel player with a steady house band where you can leave it there on stage....
set up, not much chance of any one stealing it.???,
The Session 500 sound would be ver hard to replace.

If I lived close I might try to buy that thing. $199 is sure cheap for a Session 500.

I had 2 of them... IMHO the best sounding steel amp ever made by Peavey.. IF you like SS amps...
However, it takes 3 good men and a pack mule to move the damn thing.
Whet a terrific price on this one!!
I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

no gear list for me.. you don't have the time......

I had one of those monsters back in the 80's. It was a great sounding amp but my wife refused to move it without my help. I traded it to a fellow for a N 400 and he gave me a boss tone and screaming bird with the 400. We got a forklift to load it in his van and I told him I would share the cost of his hernia operation if he needed one within 90 days.

Session 500

Post by Marvin Born »

I stopped by yesterday and the Session 500 has been sold. The young lady told me they had "many-many" calls on that amp. She had no idea there was so much interest in one amp.

Guitar Center still has a couple of Carter starters on the floor. One new and one used.

Tell them they owe the Forum $5. ;-)

Seriously, please don't post ads for stores in our Classified Ads section. They undermine sales by Forum members.
