Sweaty Palms And Fingers
Not sure if this is exactly the proper section of the forum to put this..but I figured I'd start here..and it can be placed in the appropriate spot. All of my life, I've had problems with my hands sweating fairly profusely (my feet sweat too..but so far, it really has no bearing on playing music)..as I said, it's something I've had for as far as I can remember! Am wondering if there are folks here on the forum who must deal with this..and how you deal with it? I've tried using a towell to wipe my hands off, provided there's enough time between songs. But this only lasts for a minute..and as by the time the next song has finished, my hands sometimes feel like I've had them in water! As you probably can imagine, this really causes me to kill guitar strings (I use Elixir Nanoweb strings on my Tele..and they are a godsend! But I don't know that there are any strings for steel guitars that have that coating like the Elixirs have! If I were still using regular strings for my lead guitar, I'd almost need to have them changed every week or so..all because of my hands! Have tried putting powder on my hands..just like the towells, it might help for a few minutes..but not for long! So am wondering how (if you have this problem)..what you do (if there is anything that can be done! Thanks for reading!
Dr. Oz just talked about sweaty hand treatments earlier this week. Botox injections and a simple surgery to snip the nerve that controls the sweating are two options, aluminum hydroxide is another. You can see the video here: http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/varicose ... eaty-hands
