Well.
Got ripped off. Sunday AM Gresham OR.
Pod xt.
BLUES JR W BLUE DOG.
Fender Frontman 65r
Hilton Pedal.
Bars, picks, etc.
Family New Testament..
The one that really Hurt was the last one..
I ordered a Hilton from Fred J and a bar. George L cable and ends from Zzounds, and am just trying to get myself together...
Luckily they didn't get my Marrs, or my favorite Squier.
I just traded a little used XtLive for a Podxt and a pedalboard, and am just now updating the firmware on the new xt...
What a weekend..
More later if the new firmware is problematic.
Gotta go out and get anothe New Testament tomorrow after a hospital visit..

Eric - I've been there and done it. Someone broke into my car years ago and stole my ShoBud, Fender Twin, 71' Telecaster and a case of accessories. The feeling is sickening and I feel for you. All theft is wrong, but when it is the tools of someone's trade (even if they are semi-pro) then the thief is the lowest of the low.

Sorry to hear that, Eric.....at least they didn't get your steel.....I had a Sierra D-10 stolen out of my camper a while back.....you feel violated, pissed off and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.  |

I've frequently seen what I believed to be stolen goods at flea markets. When our gear was ripped off in San Fran, the only item that was recovered was a Sho-Bud that the eBay seller said he bought in an Oakland flea market.
Think like a thief. If I was a thief, I'd stay away from Craigslist or eBay and find a way to unload it quickly.
Was this out of your car or your house? I assume it was your car as you didn't mention missing home electronics, tools and appliances. |

glad they didnt get your steel or favorite guitar.
i once found some stuff on craigs list that was obviously stolen. I called the police. they wouldnt do anything about it at all. They said 'is it your stuff?" I said no, they said "dont worry about it then". |

Well, got it all totaled. Right around two grand. It was taken between parking and going back out two hours later.
I'll be checking every place I can think of.
Got everything covered for a gig if one comes up til I start replacing it.

Well as of yesterday, I'm all "OK again." Still the Bobbe Seymour Shot J hand sawn and buffed bar and Dads New Testament tear me up... Not to mention a 7/8 BJS bar and a bunch of mementos...
Got two Frontman65rs "Webered" one of them with a Silver Bell, traded my xtLive to Kevin Neal for a NOS Podxt (&FBV), got a new Hilton and bar from Fred Justice, and 50ft of .155 cord and a dozen ends from Zzounds.
I'll get another BlsJr this summer god willing and redo it like my other one.
For now I'm thankful for what I have, and that they didn't get my Marrs and my prize Fender Squier..... And what ability and humor I have left... And gigs..
Thanks to everyone for the support and the local guys that I know would have stepped up for loaner stuff. We just do that. Nobody has to offer or ask around here. It just seems to be assumed, and rightly so. Great bunch of guys, Portland Steelers.

Eric,
You may try calling some Pawn shops around the area.
You can just ask if they have one, or any of the items you lost. If you can find one they should have a record of who pawned (sold) it. I believe this where some of the stolen goods end up. Not to bash Pawn shop owners. You may also want to check Craigslist in your area.

Bummer about the bad news. If it makes any difference at all, when my truck with my band's entire equipment stash was stolen from my carport in 1989, I had to wait until 2007 to retrieve my Emmons steel... but it does happen.
Lefty, a police lieutenant told me that if it wasn't for pawn shops, most stolen merchandise would NEVER be recovered. Pawn shops lose money every time it's discovered they have stolen stuff. It simply isn't in their best interests to fence hot merch.
I hate a thief too, but "there's nothing worse than a thief,"... well, I'd say murderer, rapist, pedophile, arsonist, terrorist, and traitor to the country rank somewheres in there as well. Somewheres... |

I was not trying to say that Pawn shops knowingly fence stolen merchandise. I have several freids who own pawn shops, and I know they try to avoid this.
The fact is the only items that go through a formal check are firearms. The others rely on a written police report or insurance report that has details and serial numbers. Sadly in this world today there are many people willin to steal for drugs, or other habits. Many stolen goods do end up in pawn shops undetected unless you go to the lengths necessary to track them down. My Father was a policeman for 33 years, and my brother a retired Chief of vice after 35 years. I was just offering a couple possible avenues to track these stolen goods.
