YouTube Videos - 5 seconds at a time....

I don't know if anyone else is having this sort of trouble or not, but I'm having problems with YouTube that are making it an absolute nuisance to watch. This has been sporadic, but more often than not.

I'll start a video and it starts to load, and I'll see that little group of dots going around and around in the middle of the screen. Then, I set a couple of measure of music, then it stops and thinks for several second, then a little more music, and on and on. I'll think the problem has been cured, and it will start again.

I have super fast broadband through a cable system (15MBPS downstream). I'm using Internet Explorer 8 with Windows 7. My processor is an Intel Core i7 860@ 2.80 Ghz 2.79Ghz. I have 8 gigs of RAM, running 64 bit. I use the 32 bit IE 8 brower. Everything else I do on this computer, including all Internet use, is smoking fast, and things almost happen before I ask it to - but this YouTube thing is making me angry. Mad

Is this just me, or is there other folks out there having the same problems?

If it's my system - Any suggestions on how to make this work better?

By the way - I right clicked on the screen during play and got the Adobe Flash Player 10 settings screen. I set the local storage to unlimited.

Any help will be appreciated.

I get the same thing, but only on some YouTube videos. When that happens, the only thing I know of to do is click the pause button, go do something else, and come back when it has finished loading in the background.

If the video is worth keeping, navigate to your 'temporary internet folder' and 'drag'n drop' the video to another folder on your computer.

You need to got to your youtube account and check your PLAY BACK SETUP, check (I have a slow connection. Never play higher-quality video.)
also empty your TEMP folder..

I have a system set up to record the video's, no problem there (I use the current Real Player to do that, easy).

I have a high speed broadband connection - why would I want to select the choice about having a slow connection on the YouTube site?

My computer is new, and I have checked, and there is no problem with my temporary folder.

Also - I have, for years, watched YouTube videos without having to download them for playback later on. It is designed for live viewing anyway.

Something weird going on, and based on some feedback I've received, I wouldn't be surprised if it's on YouTubes end, perhaps their system is getting clogged up or someting?

Well, you could reinstall Flash Player.

Also, clear the Flash local storage, although I don't know how much of a difference that would make.

Thanks for the help guys. That article at Yahoo explains a lot. I also tweaked by Flash player settings. We'll see how it works.

Still about the same. Some tunes better than others. I guess YouTube just ain't as fun as it used to be. Must be getting way to clogged up with users. I also changed my YouTube account setting to use whatever the available speed allows, instead of always use high res or low res.
