Here's my first attempt at printing onto a CD using my Epson Artisan 710 printer. This printer has a special tray that pops out to hold CD's for printing. Adding text, backgrounds, your own pictures etc is a snap with the provided software. This print took about 45 seconds of actual print time and the ink dries much faster on these printable CD's (white background) than it does on photo paper. I printed 10 CD's in a row with no hiccups.

Very impressive Greg! I know for sure what printer I will get next, or even in additional to the one I have now.
What is the price of the printable CD's? _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

Bent,
I paid $10 for 30 of them on sale at WorstBuy. My local ChinaMart does not carry them and I haven't priced them in quantity yet. The Artisan 710 is a very large (footprint) printer so it's best to make sure you have lots of space for it!

Sam's Club sells 100 pack of Verbatim ink-jet printable CD's and I've used quite a few of them over the years. I have some Tayo-Yuden that I recently bought on line that are white color ink-jet printables; these are a little pricey but I got them on-sale so it was OK.
Avoid Memorex as they are flakey.
I've been using Epson ink-jet's for printable CD's for about 6 or 7 years. Newer models keep getting better and faster. The Artisan line (there are two models that have disc printing capability) is the latest version all-in-one units. |
