I'm loaning my NV 400 to a Canadian buddy who has some guitar pickin'/ steelin' relatives coming out to stay awhile ,and head to the winter Olympics . ( big doins' up at Whistler right now , and they actually need the SNOW ! ) I know his topic has been on the Forum before - What's some favorite settings for EQ ,Gain , etc.? Thx. _________________ The only things in life I truly hate - fleas , fruit flies , and building furniture |

Depends on the guitar, pickup, pedal, and room but a good place to start is pregain 4, low 6, mid 3, shift 800, high 5, presence 6, post gain most of the way up. The shift makes a big difference in where the mid boosts or cuts so listen for that sweet spot with mids cut some. The key though is to twist and experiment and find what works for you. |

Thanks Randy - don't have any idea what his outlaw/inlaws are bringing out- could be a zither-harpsichord combo for all know ! But that was more or less what I told him too - turn the knobs it sounds good . . Thx. _________________ The only things in life I truly hate - fleas , fruit flies , and building furniture |

I use very similar settings on my NV1000, except I usually cut the mid at 800 about -3. You did say cut the mids, so maybe -3 is what you intended? Also, I generally dont push the Post Volume more than 4 or 5. The NV1000 is a 300 watt beast, and on full may cause internal bleeding!

Try the suggested settings in the operating guide at www.peavey.com, then support, then owners manual/operating guide, then "See Archived Owners Manual". |
