Xp Home Edition.
2GB Ram
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hadn't fired this computer up in three months, but after I did I got this messsage.
"You may be a victim of software conterfeiting. This copy of Windows did not pass genuine windows validation"
I bought this XP Home edition about three years ago at the cost of $179, at a reputable computer dealer. It worked without flaw. I haven't used this computer for about 3 months.
Also, the desktop background is now black.
Any solutions???
Thanks
Is the dealer still around? It sounds like they owe you a copy of Windows. |
This is probably a glitch caused by a Windows WGA update. A call to Microsoft should get the matter resolved. They will have to issue you a new product code and re-validate your Windows installation. If that fails, contact the seller of the PC and ask for their help, or a new valid product key. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum
