The seller at Ebay says,
Quote:
As you may know some Bigsbys have sold for double what im asking ($24,000.00) and this is your chance!!

Hmmmmm. Just think, if someone would buy this for $24,000, then there is a very good chance they could sell it for up to $48,000. Wow. How about that? What a sacrifice this guy is making, losing all of that profit margin. Cool Cool Cool

Aloha, Smile
Don

Hmm...the negative feedback this seller garnered over the last twelfe month makes for some interesting reading.

Costly indeed, but what would be considered a reasonable price for such an instrument?

It's a handmade vintage instrument by an important builder in a seemingly excellent state of repair.

For that money one can't buy a professional level violin. Obviously a steel guitar can't fetch the price of a Stradivarius, but isn't a Bigsby the "Strad" of console steels?

I see only 3 negs in his entire history, and they got their $ back. I think the seller is elderly and stuff happens.

I was referring to the tone of the comments more than the actual number...
BTW: In their seller ratings eBay ignores all feedback that is older than 12 months - that goes for negative feedback, too. So much for the "entire history".

True.
I'd still be willing to chance it with this particular seller.

Looks like a straight up seller to me. Based on Bigsby selling prices over the last few years, his asking figure seems fair to me.

Jussi -- I've sent you a Bigsby related email, if you don't mind. Thanks.
