Hi Herman, this should do it for you:

Lots of information by googling "Lap steel string gauges". What tuning are you using?

"8-string lap steel" + "Hawaiian and some country" = C6 Wink

There's two basic variations for 8-strings:

E
C
A
G
E
C
A
G

and

G
E
C
A
G
E
C
A

....plus a few other..

You can use the string gauge chart Will posted a link to and put together your own set, or you can find a set in the forum's own "string shop" by clicking on "Strings" at the top of this page.

Hope this helps! Cool

Herman,

Welcome to the forums, although it seems you're not a stranger.

In addition to the resources you've been given here, also make sure you check out this very forum, which not only sells strings (which helps support this most amazing of communities), but also gives you lots of string gauges and tunings to compare.

Here's the link:

Hope this helps.

Josh
