I'll be in Slidell, LA the weekend of March 19th visiting family. Does anyone know of any clubs in the area that are likely to have a steeler playing? |

Bill Stafford has gotten in touch with me and mentioned getting together at R.J. Buras's new Catfish Camp Restaurant. This sounds great, and I'm still interested in hearing about any other places near Slidell to hear a good steeler and some good country music. Looks like I'll be in Slidell Thurs. March 17 until Monday 21. But one of those nights I have to go into N'awlins to eat and hear jazz. |

Hey David if you like jazz guitar, theres a guy in Covington near slidell that plays 7 string guitar and either his wife sings or he has a horn player with him.
His name is Jimmy Foster. He makes great guitars. Look him up on his website. www.fosterguitars.com

David, contact R.J. and see if he can find out where David Easley is performing that weekend. Usually he is doing gigs in the NOLA area or here on the Mississippi Coast. And just perhaps David E. is not working that weekend it might be possible for R.J. to arrange for David E. to show up at his restaurant one of those weekend nights.. That would make your trip complete to just sit and watch and listen and then wonder(like we all do) how David E can do all he does. One unique musician here folks-we need more of them too. Hope it works out and you, David D., have a great time here down south.

Okay, thanks guys. I'm e-mailing Roland. Looks like I'll be coming to his catfish place Friday or Saturday March 18 or 19. I'll let Roland tell me which is best. I'm flying in with my family, so I may not bring my Zum uni with me. But I'll be happy just to listen to any steeler who is there. Only people I get to hear around here are Jim Cohen and occassionaly Dave Van Allen. As good as they are, I do like to hear steelers with that Deep South soul. |

Hey, Roland. I sent you and e-mail that bounced back. Do you have a more recent e-mail address than the one the Forum has? You may need to update your profile. |

Guys, please note I have a new e-mail address and have updated my profile with it. Ron, I'll show up at your catfish restaurant on Friday or Saturday night, whichever you think will be better to hear some steel playing. I'm flying down with my family and probably won't bring my Zum S12U. But I will enjoy sitting back and listening to anyone else. I'd especially like to hear Bill Stafford play his 14-string. |

According to Roland, Friday 3/18 will be the best night, so I'm showing up at his catfish place then. Since I've joined the Forum I've kept an eye on the Gulf Coast steeler scene, hoping I will get a chance to hear some of it on one of my family visits. Looks like this is my chance. I look foward to meeting and hearing some of you. |

HI David, R.J. and crew are anticipating your arrival and visit. I will be there to meet and greet you . We will have some pickers there for you to meet also. Good time ahead, and I am glad you have David Easley's schedule for his appearance in Covington-which is very close to Slidell. You will receive much enjoyment watching and listening to David. He is one of our unique players and is not a clone of anyone. We need more like him too...Looking forward to seeing you..
