To me the whole show was jaw-dropping great. But the best "event" was late Friday night at the Rains Steel Guitar area: Hal Rugg and Paul Franklin's impromptu jam for about 90 minutes. There were maybe 5 seats and 40 people standing & watching. Me, I was seated immediately opposite Franklin and next to Hal.

WOW!!! This show was UNBELIEVABLE! Thanks to Albert and the entire TSGA Staff for a great weekend. Although, considering I slept about 4 hours a night, it was like a week long event.
Thanks to all my many new friends. What a great crowd!
The artists were outstanding; every last one of them. The back up band was incredible. What is the world record for keyboard players in consecutive days, hours of playing? Furthermore, Roy never played the same lick twice.
I would like to thank one person in particular for his friendship, his generosity and the time he afforded me. Bill Stafford, you're a true gentleman. Thank you in so many ways for making my weekend one of the highlights of my life. I look forward to seeing you in Gulfport!
I could go on and on, but THANKS to everyone!
Smiley, Kerry and Larry, thanks for keeping me up until 1:30 am Monday morning. That was a fun way to close out a great weekend.
Yes, the Hal & Paul jam at the Raines booth was terrific. Jim, we must have been rubbing elbows.
Hal, my prayers will be with you. Thanks for sharing your gift!

Many thanks to the TSGA for such a wonderful time of superior entertainment and relaxation! And what a nice big place the Harvey Hotel is to hold such an event as this. This was our first Steel Show and my husband and I were genuinely impressed with the friendly family atmosphere we found in Texas for 4 whole days.
Although words just can't describe how much we enjoyed every single performer, my husband couldn't quit talking about Roy the piano player, and as for me, I found myself utterly impressed with the two boy Steel players. Jonathon's playing is nothing less than phenomenal considering he has never seen a Steel guitar, much less a fret marker. Thank you Jonathon for giving so much of yourself and your talent to so many people, and for being such an inspiration to people like me who are just beginners and need that inspiration so badly. And Austin, he's not only a child-prodigy Steel player, he's one of the most polite and respectful boys I've ever met. Thanks Austin, for answering all my questions and for just being so nice. Anyhoo, ...those boys just 'made my day'!
We were so glad we got to see Dick and Lois Meis' performance before we had to leave to catch a flight. It was just plain fun to watch Lois play that Bass and do some great yodeling to boot! And watching fast-fingers Dick play that Steel with a flat-pick was a real treat. Has anyone but me noticed the utter grace with which he fast picks a Steel Guitar?
I can't end this without mentioning the kind people who staffed the ticket booth, and stood there for about 16 hours a day just to help us out. And I have to say this too... the whole steel community is so warm and friendly, that's the only thing that can explain how much we already miss the very many people we only just met 4 days ago....
Thanks TSGA!

Leila,
Austin's mom here. Just wanted to say thanks for your comments on my little boy. I was stuck at my booth most of the time & did not get to keep an eye on Austin as I normally do. I am glad to hear he minded his manors.
The Dallas show was so much fun. Thanks to Albert & everyone involved for letting us be a part of it.

Just wanted to thank Albert Talley for letting Jean & I be a part of the Texas Show again.
I think that we had the best time and enjoyed it more than any time in the past.
Thanks Albert, & the club for all of the hard work that I know that it takes to make a show like this work. Thanks again.

Thanks Tim. The pleasure of meeting you was all mine. This is what this show is all about. The Texas staff of workers and musicains are the best and I extend my congratulations to all for a wonderful show. I will never have the proper words to fully thank everyone for allowing me to be part of this great event. So, a sincer THANK YOU TSGA for all you do.
And Tim, looking forward to your visits to Gulfport in the near future..Again the pleasure was all mine. I look forward to owning two of your great speaker cabinets. Thanks for allowing me to use them during my part of the show. Finally discovered proper musical amplification speaker cabinets-and the look as good as they sound!!!!
