I can't swear to it but it might be Carson Chamberlain. It's been over 20 years since I've seen him so I may be wrong. |

Is that, by any chance, a Franklin steel with PedaBro combination that he's playing? Someone once told me that Franklin made something like that, but I've never seen one. If it is, it's a very interesting instrument. _________________ 1986 Mullen D-10 with 8 & 7 (Dual Bill Lawrence 705 pickups each neck)

Looks like I was able to answer my own question ... I looked at another video clip of the same show and there's the Franklin logo on the front of his instrument ...

Thanks, Pat ... that was a very interesting thread. The PedaBro fascinates me, but I never really think about them too much because, from what I hear, they're very expensive ... way out of my price league ...
Joseph, your thread here has me on Kieth Whitley binge tonight ... I've been all over YouTube listening to lots of different things of his. _________________ 1986 Mullen D-10 with 8 & 7 (Dual Bill Lawrence 705 pickups each neck)

I saw that double-neck at the St Louis show in '98, set up at the back of the Franklin booth (and not for sale at that time), the same year he had his triple-neck pedal steel on display. Paul Sr told me that Carson had given it back to him after Keith's death and just stopped playing altogether for a while. _________________ On Earth, as it is in Texas |

Wow! wonderful steel guitar playing and great singing too. That's country!
I think Keith Whitley gets his hair done at the same place my aunt Mildred does. |

Carson's pedabro waas seen with Keith in the video "I'm No Stranger To The Rain". I've heard that Carson is now writing songs now and he's written a lot of songs. His pedabro had the standard pedabro neck along with a steel neck.

It's worth mentioning here that Jeff Surratt builds a similar guitar. He calls it the Cat Bro. Some of you may remember the reso simulator Duane Marrs called the Cat Can because it used an empty cat food can as a resonator. After Duane died Jeff continued the tradition and builds a guitar with a standard E9 neck in front and a reso neck, both with pedals. I believe he also builds the standalone reso guitar.
Check it out (click here)
(off the subject)
Look at the picture of it on the Show Pro website . The guitar just below it (the U-12 guitar) (click to enlarge) is mine. _________________ Larry Bell - email: larry@larrybell.org - gigs - Home Page
