Burr, we have you in mind this year We're going to try a little different set this year. Some big band tunes with 3 steels (Kirk, Curtis and I) along with Kirk's regular 5 piece band plus Jeanne on bass, Dale Hopkins on fiddle, a sax/conga player and Mark Kelchen on guitar. In all, it should be a 9 or 10 piece band? Time is getting short, so we're pushing to get a long set of material worked up. This should be fun if we can get it all together.
See you there.

Thanks for the reply, Dennis. I've gotta make sure that my recording equipment is in first-class shape, because the mix of you and Curtis and Kirk on steels with Jeanne on bass and Mark on lead guitar (and even sax and fiddle??) sounds like an event not to be missed!
Seriously, for anybody out there who hasn't attended the NEISGJ, this is a super event, and has some outstanding local Midwest steel players in addition to the Big Names that Lefty and Kirk manage to line up for us every year.

Ok gang! Now's the time to start your engines and head for the 13th annual NE IA Steel Gtr Jam/Show in Waterloo this coming weekend. The weather forecast is good, roads are clear, temps are fine PLUS we'll be graced by the presence and superb playing of Scotty, Russ & Laney, and Herby. In addition, you'll hear some fine picking from over 30 steel players from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. To top it off, if you're looking for something to do after checking in at the Heartland Motel, you might be interested in taking in two jams Friday night, i.e., a circle jam at the Eagles Club in downtown Waterloo and another jam at Paulie's Place. We'll be looking for you! ...lefty
