This (hopefully) will be of interest to some steel players.
Beard Guitars has designed 2 new square neck guitars for the folks at Gold Tone.
The PBK is a square neck acoustic (non-resonator) guitar along the lines of the larger body pre-war Oahu's. The body is roughly dreadnought. Available in a week or 2.
The PBS8 is our first 8 string resonator design for Gold Tone and will feature a mahogany laminate body. This is for any player that might have been lusting for the Auldridge 8 but could not justify the $$$. The guitar will be outfitted with Beard made cone and no 14 spider. Available in 6-8 weeks.
Guitars will be sold directly through Beard Guitars will be set up at the Beard shop.
The prices will be "attractive".

Thanks for the report!
At NAMM I also saw the new version of the Peavy Powerside with humbucking pickups. Really fat sound, same harlequin look. suggested retail only $199
