Just got word that the band that my friend and fellow fo'bro' plays for is being inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame. Roger has been a major asset to that band for MANY years,,and deserves a lot of credit for the accomplishments they have achieved. Below is an email I got from him.
Hey everybody,
I just got the word that Billy Mata and the Texas Tradition will be inducted into the Texas western swing hall of fame this coming May. We have worked hard for this and are all excited about it. Our current cd "This is Tommy Duncan" was awarded western swing cd of the year by AWA(academy of western artists). We are in the studio now doing vol .2. I'm playing all non pedal steel on them. Roger
CONGRATULATIONS ROGER!!!!!! |
