Jack, is it the older Webb 614E with the JBL speaker?
how much are you asking for it? I'd like to see a couple pictures of it, just front and back when you get it cleaned up and checked out. Thanks

Jack or Hook, do you guys know if a Webb combo amp can be modified into a piggy-back model? If it can, is it something an electrical tech would have to do, or could an idiot like myself do it?

Split?

Post by Bari Smith »

One of my Webb's is a split with RJ cabs. You wouldn't have to be an electrical engineer to change a one piece to two.More of a carpenter and a little soldering. :D

Thanks guys, I can do a little carpentry work.
I built a chicken coop once. :)
But, my son is a good carpenter, he done that for a living for about 10 years. So maybe he could help.

Ok Jack, I'll be waiting for the pics.

Hi Terry, Sorry, I thought I got back to you on the speaker. It has a JBL. Model K-130-4 in it. I'm still waiting for the repairman to get back to me on what it will take to get the crackling hum out of it. Truly sorry about the delay.. Thanks Jack

That's ok on the wait Jack, I know it takes time on stuff like this. MAN! K-130, I had a Session 500 with a K-130 in it. The best sound I've ever gotten out of a steel guitar. The weight was the only reason I got rid of it. I know the Webb is bad heavey to though. :\

Hey Jack, hope your feeling ok, wish you the very best with your medical problem. Jack, I've found an Evans FET 500 with a JBL in it, in real good shape. It will be a little lighter than the Webb, so I've decided to go with it instead of the Webb. The more I thought about the weight of the Webb, the more I realized I just couldn't handle the weight. So, just let Hook have the Webb ok? Appreciate you much.
God bless
Terry
