I am looking for a pedal steel player from Atlanta(surrounding area) that could play pedal steel on a slow country tune for a major release. I can pay and would be willing travel (laptop and pro tools in hand) to them to record. Player must be able to improv and follow a chord chart.

I love Tommy and his playing and I have no doubt that he will and can do whatever is needed for the song/s.
But, let's not forget another "one of the greats" from that area and that would be Larry "Wimpy" Sasser, probably the most televised steel guitar player, ever.

Well, and then there's me... some weeks I have as many sessions as I do gigs. I just talked to Mike and it sounds like I may be helping him out with this one. Thanks, b0b!

Ah, yes, another excellent choice! Sorry to have not thought of you quicker, Mark, but I had no idea where Loganville is.

Mark,Larry,Tommy,Bill Ferguson,Garland Nash and Gayland Matthews if he is not doing something with Gretchen Wilson. All of the above would not be a bad choice.

Mike,

Thanks for throwing my name in the hat but I'm in Australia with Gretchen for the time being. Sounds like Mark has it all sewed up.

When I asked the admin of the pedal steel forum to post my message I had no idea I would receive such a large amount of interest! You guys have really got a tight community! I thought I would put in a request and get one or two emails by Monday, but I have received dozens of calls and emails. Everyone was very kind and pretty much offered me the same deal, so I picked the guy that was the closest. Thank you Mark for listening to my MP3's and speaking to me I look forward to hopefully working with many of you in the future. I have put all your emails in my pedal steel folder in my email account for future reference. Thanks again!
