New Clip of the Week 01/10/10

Post by Walter Stettner »

Good Morning from Vienna,

I admit the last few clips were quite hard to guess, so here is an easier one, but nevertheless a classic: :)

Enjoy the music!

Kind Regards, Walter

I think Red Sovine with maybe Don Warden. Pretty sure about Red, not so much about Don.

Giddy Up Go and Pete Drake !! It's not so much the tone but the tuning which sounds like Drake's C6th to me.

This steel put me in mind of Buck Trent's picking style on the electric banjo, when he was bending the strings.

I'll go out on a limb here and say it is Buck Trent playing the steel. I know he did play it once way back on Hee Haw.
I agree that the singer is Red Sovine.
