Competition is stiff in these parts. I would suggest going to the Ballard area, and checking out the Conor Byrne or the Tractor Tavern as clubs go. The Hopvine, in Capitol Hill, has the best open mic with TONS of budding musicians. My advice is make friends with as many playing musicians as possible and get promoted from within. Might sound cynical, but it works. Good Luck!
