TN: Boot Camp Stimulus Package to continue in 2010
I just wanted to let everyone know that my Steel Guitar 1-on-1 Boot Camp school will continue it's price reduction through 2010. Teresa and I talked it over and agree that considering the economy and everything else we want to keep it affordable to everyone. I hope all of you have a great new year and if I can be of help to you let me know. I also want to thank all of my former 'Boots" all the way back to 2003 when I started this venture. You guys and gals have been a joy to teach.
I want to add though. If you have tried reaching me through my old email address, It is no longer any good due to being hacked back in the fall. You can email me through the Forum here by using the button, Or, just email me at stlplyr60@netscape.com. I hope to hear from some of you soon. And remember, It doesn't matter what your playing level is I can address anyones questions. Thanks for your time.

What it's like...a student's viewpoint.
Everyone in the steel guitar community probably already knows that Mike is a world-class player, but you may not know what it’s like to take lessons from Mike. Since I have been to Mike’s home for lessons on several occasions, (I was one of Mike’s first students) I feel qualified to tell you about what you can expect.
Mike made me feel very comfortable from the start. During my first “boot camp” Mike began by assessing my abilities, then custom tailored a lesson plan for me. Everything was recorded on video so that I could refer to it later. Recording your time with Mike is important because it would likely be impossible to remember everything Mike teaches. Recording it on video allows you to refer to it over and over again. (I had about twenty hours of video from my first three-day session with Mike.) Mike has an easy-going style of teaching that really impressed me. He not only knows his stuff, but he can convey it to you.
My most recent visit, this past November, was to get some fresh ideas to use when recording a new album with the southern gospel quartet that I play with. Mike showed me some new ideas that will definitely kick my playing up a notch. It is stuff that I can use the rest of my playing life.
I always feel very at ease with Mike. He makes you feel welcome and his eagerness to pass along his wealth of knowledge is readily apparent. Teresa, Mike’s wife, is an excellent cook and always prepares a fantastic lunch. What a bonus! At the end of each day, I felt refreshed and excited about what I had learned.
Mike is offering a tremendous opportunity to improve your playing at a very reasonable price. Whether you are a new player or you feel your playing is in a rut, Mike can help you! If this is something you have been considering, don’t hesitate to give it a try. I think you’ll be very glad that you did.

I want to answer the most asked question about the Boot Camp here so those interested will know. The most asked question is "When is the boot camp?" The answer is, I don't have specific dates for the boot camp, It's up to you as to when your boot camp is. I do this at your convenience. YOU PICK YOUR DATES. You just need to contact me and make sure the dates you want are open. I feel that with the price reduction and as always the flexibility I'm more than fair and with Teresa's cooking thrown in I think it's the best deal out there.
Thanks for your time.

I want to thank those who have inquired about the Boot Camp. I hope this is the biggest year yet for new recruits as well as return visitors. I have to say, I get more satisfaction from teaching than I ever thought I could. It is a challenge as well as a total blast seeing folks eyes light up when they discover something that has eluded them for so long. Also seeing the passion for the instrument rise in a new player when the simplest of things start to click. This instrument has given me many years of pleasure and I've been fortunate enough to make my living with it most of my life now I want to pass along to others so they can experience what I have.
