The first lap steel I ever bought was that same model, but 8 strings.
A true So-Cal legend, Lowell Kiesel.

I have an early Kiesel lap steel guitar.

I was surprised when I went to the Carvin website yesterday to order more sound equipment and saw that Lowell had passed.

My condolences to the Kiesel family.

Alvin : Thanks for your posting here on the Forum about the loss of Mr. Kiesel . I. too , bought my first " Lap " Steel from the Carvin Co. in 1952. I had just joined the U.S. Navy at age 17; As a going away present from home, my older sister ordered my six string ' Lap " steel from Carvin and had it shipped right to me aboard my first ship.May Mr. kiesel R.I.P. Bernie :( :(
