Wow
Bad news for all. After seeing he'd been released for the hospital, I'd hoped he was on the road to recovery.
God bless Jimmie and his family. We will all miss him. He was a truly unique person.

Very sad! I had been praying for him. Well, at least he is now made whole in a better land.

I think I am still in a state of shock this morning. Jimmie has been a dear friend and mentor since the early '70s. It is a true loss for all of us, and I hurt deeply for Elsie and all the family.
I have played Jimmie's tuning and setup since '79, and I never sit at my guitar without thinking of him, and will even more so in the future...
God rest you, Jimmie, you were one of a kind

My symphathies to the family of this great steeler/husband/father/grandfather. I've loved his playing for years and still play his "Ton of Steel" LP on a regular basis. I'll miss seeing and hearing Jimmy and Russ H. doing "Steelin" at Scotty's it was always a showstopper. This is very sad....JH
