Dave Easley Workshop at Fazio's in St Louis, Mon Dec 21

Post by Bryan Rankins »

Monday Dec 21 at 7pm, Fazio's Frets and Friends will be hosting a clinic with pedal steel great, Dave Easley. Besides doing some amazing playing, Dave will be talking about tetral harmony (harmony based on thirds), quartal harmony (harmony based on fourths) some exotic scales, diversification vs. specialization, the role of the producer, hair styles for the modern steeler, and if there's time, maybe some dating tips (okay, so I might have made up that part about the exotic scales). For those of you who have had the pleasure of seeing Dave perform, and always wondered what to do with that neck you are using as an armrest, well now is the time. Dave will have a few special guests with him, that some of you are sure to recognize. Don't miss this great opportunity to learn from one of the best steelers around today. The clinic costs $20, and seating is limited, so please either call the store at 636-227-3573 or toll free 1-888-687-4200, or feel free to email me at bryanr@faziosmusic.com.

Bryan, although I don't play C6 I may just come anyway. We may need to take up a collection to buy Dave some new tape for his pickups.

And a new length of twine for his knee lever.

Guys. don't worry Dave's stock of tape. I think he's got an endorsement deal with 3M in the works...the twine...that's a different story...

There are still some spots left for the Dave Easley Pedal steel guitar extravaganza and workshop on Monday, Dec 21st at 7pm. For those of you who are worried that this might be over your head, stop worrying. Dave has promised to keep this on a level where even I can understand it. Come on out and support a great steeler, and learn some stuff at the same time.

Will this have any appeal for musicians other than steel players?

Yep, he did... played with an actual alligator tooth for a bar... also a sitar bridge while channeling Ravi Shankar.

If he was using an alligator tooth for a bar, I hope he was packing his gris-gris.
