Another push-pull classic is given a new lease of life by a deservedly proud owner. As a humble pleb (i.e. all-pull ower) I salute your craftsmanship and devotion.

"A thing of beauty is a joy forever."
The steel guitar is a hard mistress. She will obsess you, bemuse and bewitch you. She will dash your hopes on what seems to be whim, only to tease you into renewing the relationship once more so she can do it to you all over again...and yet, if you somehow manage to touch her in that certain magic way, she will yield up a sound which has so much soul, raw emotion and heartfelt depth to it that she will pierce you to the very core of your being.

Hi Tony,

Congratulations on a job very well done :D

I can't wait to see it in "person". I like your half-stop design, it looks like it would work very well!
Best regards,
Lynn Stafford

(Ignore the painters tape on the knee levers which I'll take off after I add the lever "flags").

That's some great work,I think I'll let a pro who is familliar with the push pull work on mine. I am afraid to admit it, I am not that incline to do it myself.

Bill...always good to hear from you.

That sunburst p/p was the one that got away. I think I sold it for about $800 back in 1980. What a bone-head move.

BTW, I sure would like to see some pix of your Desert Rose.

Bump to set the record straight.

Kids - it plays and sounds as good as it looks. I had the privilege of getting to fondle this guitar this weekend, as well some other stellar Emmons guitars.

Tony, thanks for sharing your new toy with all of us! Great to meet you in person.

Bill.........I got the pix, and sent an email that didn't go through...I re-sent it about 2 hrs ago. The DR is an exquisite looking guitar, (just like your blue "Bud). It'd be nice visiting sometime. Maybe Karen and I will head down to Arizona sometime. If we do, you'll be on the "must-see" list.

Scott....had a good time @ the steel-a-thon last Sunday. It's always good meeting another steeler.

Tony,

Thanks for bringing your "new" Emmons over on Sunday with your lovely wife, Karen. It was great having the chance to see and play your rebuilt PP. It plays and sounds great! I'm glad we all had the chance to get together and happy everyone got a chance to meet my friend, Scott Hay. It's so good to have someone from the younger generation so enthused about pedal steel!
Best regards,
Lynn Stafford
