I am looking for a lead guitar for my band, Anchors. I am currently playing with a bassist and drummer and would really love to have lead guitarist who can play slide on there as well. I am looking for someone who can write very simple and beautiful melodies that can accent the kind of music I am making. Think Neil Young, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Cat Power, The Great Lake Swimmers, Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams, Ryan Adams, etc...
You can hear some of my rough demos here: http://www.myspace.com/anchorslisten
I am looking to put together a tight band that really plays well off one another. I have shows lined up and am looking recording a full-length in the spring, with short tours to follow in the summer.
Also, a huge, major plus if you can play pedal steel!

I play all three....
Anne,
Hey I'd be happy to supply you with the sounds you're looking for: I play 6 string electric and acoustic, non pedal steel and pedal steel guitar.
The summer tours may be hard due to my Hawaiian band schedule being very tight.
Please email, pm or contact me thru my site if you're interested.
Here's a couple live video of me playing steel with my band (EZ going Hawaiian style, sitting down):
