Saluda Show
I remember coming to my first Saluda show back in Feb 2008. I have wanted to make them all every since then. Life and it's many happenings just keeps getting in the way of me coming back, but I hope I can make this one. I thought that they were kidding about how good those hotdogs were.....and the bar-b-q. They weren't kidding.
Good stuff!!!
Good people!!!
Wish I could play the guitar like Woody.

Hey David,
This one would be a good one to get to if you can make it, we're plannin' on havin' a big ole time. SC is a small state, so you can't be too far away.
Still got the same good hot dogs and bar-b-q, and we might even play a song or two you'll enjoy. That Hicks fella has been known to play pretty good at times.
Hope to see ya there,
Jim
PS David, just about every guitar player I know wishes they could play like Woody. He's a dandy.

Hey Santy 60 - Stowers Person
I have to take a rain Check Again.
My Youngest Daughter is getting married on The 4 th of December in Charleston and I just can't afford 2 trips on one SS Check.
So When it comes to the Baby, The Baby Comes 1st.
I have to be there to make my Powerful speech to my prospective Son in Law. If He Stays For the Wedding after my speech, I guess He's a Keeper.
I know you guys will have a large time as that Hicks guy puts it.
I sure would like to see all you guys again.
John

Bro David
I will be Coming Down on Dec 3 and Be Going home on Dec 4th. Just a quick Trip down and Back home as I have Pets I have to take care of.
Would love to hear you play that beautiful CLR Steel Guitar again. You have an great memoty in that Guitar, Built by the Masters Hands himself, Brother Charles Reece.
We can never forget what Buddy Walker and Charles Reece did when they started the Southern Steel Guitar Convention and Put Saluda, S.C. on the map.
There needs to be a memorial in Saluda honoring them.
I know I will never forget the great times I had There and consider myself fortunate in being able to help for a few short years.
This is a Great Show, Being Carried on by some most dedicated people in the Saluda Tradition.
Russ Hicks is right on with his comments of having a LARGE Time.
I'm Sure you will and Its all for the most honorable cause, Helping the Kids.
Shriners know how to mix a Large Time while doing great work.

I've already got my second honeymoon planned. It comes in March.
Friday - Drive to Nashville, Check in Super 8. Go to Opry. Back to room and bitch about the Opry.
Saturday - Continental breakfast at motel. Visit Country Music Hall of Fame and Gruhn's Guitars.
Saturday Night - Dinner at Waffle House. Go to Opry and ET Midnight Jamboree. Back to room and bitch about the Opry some more.
Sunday - Continental breakfast at motel and listen to CD's we bought at ET Record shop all day, rest, and watch Bill Gaither and Hee Haw reruns on TV. Bitch about waisting the past two nights at the Opry.
Monday - Continental breakfast at motel. Visit Bobbe Seymour's store and Fred Carpenter's violin shop. Talk about buying something I saw there, instead of taking a vacation this summer.
Monday night - Station Inn (with Nachos and Pizza)Come back to room and get on internet to tell everybody on the forum how great the Time Jumpers played, what kind of shoes Paul was wearing, did I see him used his fourth pedal change, etc....
Tuesday - No breakfast. Go see divorce attorney, or undertaker.

Ok Larry Moore! No "Rear End" jokes while i'm in Saluda!
I think i will sit on the front row when you play and make you play "Hwy 40 Blues" 90 miles an hour!
I just hope i don't trash it as bad as i did Atlanta!
I think Russ will enjoy watching me try to play steel!
Have the coffee on Jerry! I'm getting old and can't play fast!

I might not be able to make it and get some of that Great BBQ, but I can have the next best thing, just got a package in the mail from my Daughter in Charleston with 2 bottles of Thomas Bessingers Original Golden Bar*Be*Que Sauce and I already have some Pork Cooked over a hickory fire,
So I'm gonna pig out this weekend with my next door neighbors who thinks this pickled pork in eastern N.C. is real BBQ.
