Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain boys on David Letterman tonight. I know he's bluegrass, but he sings with more soul than anybody in the top 50, IMHO, A Pickin' Bro. Doyle |

My good friend and former bandmate, Jimmy Cameron, from Olivia, N. C., was playing bass. Jimmy replaced Jack Cooke , who had been with Ralph for years and retired recently. I thought Ralph and the boys were in good form. Jimmy tells me the show was taped last Monday. _________________ LeGrande II, Nash. 112, Fender Twin Tone Master, Session 400, Harlow Dobro, R.Q.Jones Dobro |

This is not intended to be viewed for it's political content, but since this thread is about Ralph Stanley, I thought it would be worth posting.
Eric C. Conn is an attorney in Pikeville, KY that's trying to get appointed to the Social Security Commission.
Obama Girl is a professional model from New York.
The Dancer is an icon from the E-KY, WV area.
Form your own opinion, I actually find it humorous but a little uncomfortable, corny, rednecky, to the bluegrass community. FYI - Ralph Stanley's music is considered mountain music, more than it is bluegrass. Ralph is shown playing clawhammer style banjo which is definately not bluegrass.

There is a tune on UTUBE by Ralph Stanley and Patty Loveless titled "Pretty Poly". About as blue grass as you can get. Jody. |
