To those that have tried, or, own a Mullen G2 how does the tone compare to the original Mullen steel guitars. And how does the tone compare to the tone of an Emmons P/P?

Well I'll bite since I am still in love with this guitar. I don't have any experience with the older Mullen guitars but I do have a bit with Emmons and the new G2. The G2 has a similar bell tone that is often associated with Emmons guitars. I have never been attracted to the cheese grader highs in any guitar and this G2 has more of a rounded tone...at least with the PF2's that I have now. Paul F. mentioned something in an earlier thread about guitars that resonate down thru the legs and I totally agree with him. That is one of the attributes of a guitar that I look for now and this G2 has it. Not all guitars from the same manufacturer have this quality.

If your really asking for purchasing reasons, I would have to say that you can not go wrong with a G2. I have not heard nor experienced any negative what so ever about this guitar...other than the goofy thread about bent cross shafts which was total BS anyway.

I have only played steel for a bit over a year, but have had someone playing one next to me for 30. I now play a G2 and every time I play it I fall in love with the tone once more. I have 2 other steels colecting dust.
