the Raleigh -Durham area that gives one on one lessons.

if you live in the RALIEGH,Durham area your not that far from orange Va and the best steel teacher on the planet gives lesson there.at Billy coopers music in orange Va . His Name is "BUDDY CHARLTON"who is a legend in this Business. he taught myself and a host of others the ropes over the yrs and is still going strong. conact billy cooper for more Info. also Ray walker lives down in smithfield Nc he goes up to buddys pretty regular you guys might hook up and carpool and get a lesson the same day and ray can show you a few tricks too .. hope this helps

Dear Al,
I appreiciate your reply to my post very
much and I have known about Billy Cooper and
Buddy Charlton for some time,but that would
not be possible for me in that I am retired.
That would be a 400 mile round trip.I would prefer someone closer to me.If possible.

Monroe you can check with Skip mertz who lives in Fayettville right on Ramsey St the main drag going throu Fayettville.Check the forum for his E-Mail.If he does'nt want to do it he knows a lot of the steel players in your area.There is another guy in the Wilson area Clyde Maddocks whho i beleave teaches.I lived in the southern part of Raleigh off Route 42 a year and a half ago and i met all these guys. Join the Mid Atlantic Steel Guitar Association and you can go to all the Steel shows they have for free and they give Seminars most of the time and you can talk to a lot of the guys and they can help you out.
