The instructions from Lace indicate that the transducer should be "on the High E lead string" (obviously a carry-over from 6-string) but I noticed in a couple of postings that some from the forum have it the opposite on their pedal steel guitars (transducer on low strings). Has anyone tried swapping the pickup around to see what the effect is?

Mine has the transducer on the high string side and the tone is a little unbalanced (thin on the top end), though I may just need to adjust the pickup height.

Update-pickup height adjusted to be closer on high strings. This made a huge difference.

I did not notice any instructions when I received mine (from Carter)
I fitted it and it sounds great so I doubt if it will matter.
