This is GREAT. Wishful thinking on my part; but wouldn't it put the icing ont the cake if The Big E just happened to show up with 'The Blade'. :D :D :D :D . Hope hope. Anything's posible! Andy H.

Hot Springs Show

Post by Herby Wallace »

I just spoke with Ronnie Neighbors and I have a lineup of players for the show which I have listed below, also there will probably be some more added as time goes on.

Janet Lynn, Mike Jones, Rudy Osborne, Rob Parker, Henry Matthews, Jerry Roller, Robby Springfield, Scotty Henderson, Austin Stewart, Jerry Newberry, Gene Simmons, Ronnie Neighbors, Herby Wallace, Buck Grantham.

Backup band will include: Roy Rosetta, Bob Dell and David Bass.

The times are starting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening and starting at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday evening.

I hope to see many of you there for Ronnie's last show.

Herby Wallace

P.S. Don't forget McClard's Bar-B-Que which is my favorite of all time, and believe me, that says a lot. It is within walking distance from the show.

One other thing I just noticed. Of course most of you know that I think Mullen steel guitars are without a doubt the finest on the market and looking at the the above list of great players, at least 10 of the 14 will be playing Mullen which I think says something for Mullen. This wasn't planned but just happened.

Hey Herby,
Looking forward to another great weekend of music. You are are one of my all time heros so I always look forward to hearing you play. Also if I'm not one of the 10, add me to the Mullen list. I bought Jr Knights 2006 model and I love it. I normally go eat seafood with Roy and Buck and the gang but I think I will get a to go order of BBQ for a midnight snack!

What a great ending to an awesome weekend. A big thank you to Ronnie and Faye for inviting me to play at their show. All the pickers were top notch and the band was above average. Great to see and pick with Roy, Bob, Paul, and Buck. I was exhausted from playing all week and driving but muddeled through and the band kept me going. Thanks to Andy for the picks and to everyone else for the great friendship...

I also had a ball, in spite of driving 500 miles nonstop friday to get there. The highpoint for methough. was when the 'cookie monster' started his set sat., one of his fingerpicks flew up in the air. I promptly gave him a set of coated picks so this won't happen again. :) ALL the Pickers & the backup band was topdrawer. To all the pickers who got coated picks, Happy pickin'. Andy H.

How in the world did i forget to mention the master,Herby Wallace. He is an icon on this instrument and has recorded with and for so many people and worked the road for some heavy hitters in this music business.the show would not have been the same without him playing . he has made all of Ronnies shows except one i think.that speaks for itself of how great he is. keep on playing Herby, we all still marval at what you do and hope to for along time.proud to have you as a friend. Well Jerry, Austin & I had a good time at Ronnie's Saturday. The playing, food, a fellowship was great. It was a long day Sunday trying to get Austin back to Kansas & then back to my home, but it was worth it. Austin has always really liked Ronnie and wouldn't have missed his last show for anything. Thanks to Roy, Paul, Bob & Buck for playing so well with the guys. Thanks Ronnie and Faye for 30 years!!!!!!!!!!

Hot Springs Show

Post by Herby Wallace »

Well, I just returned from Hot Springs and I must say that I enjoyed this show more than any that I have done in a long time. I have been doing Ronnie's show since 1984 and they have all been great, but this one was one of the best. The lineup of players was excellent and the backup band was tremendous. I have always said that one of the most important things to me at any show is having a good backup band and these guys really did it. Saturday night when I played, everything was in the pocket as we say. In other words, the band nailed it and I enjoyed playing more than I have in a very long time and I owe it all to the great band, Roy Rosetta, Paul Polish, Bob Dell and Buck Grantham. Of course, my playing has never been the same since I had the stroke over 3 years ago, but these guys inspired me so much on my Saturday night set, that I felt like I was getting some of my "Fire" back and I cannot tell you how great I felt musically speaking.

Now, to the negative part of this post. Ronnie and I were very disappointed with the turnout this time as it was way down and I really hate that since this was his last show. I don't know what the problem was, but believe me, those of you who didn't attend, missed a great show. Also, I might add that there were 10 Mullen guitars on stage, which doesn't surprise me since I have been playing them for over 25 years and have known how great they are. I'll shut up now!

Herby, as always it is great for me to get to see and hear you play, even more so since your stroke. I think you are getting the spark back. I sure enjoy sharing those stories with you, we seem to both have a lot of them to share. :) Oh, just gotta say there was at least one Emmons there. :P ...it was a great run and I hate to see it end. I think I played about the last 15 years of Ronnie's show except for one or two when I had surgeries. Herby, see you down the road, sir.

I want to thank all the artists, and a great stage band of artists..you all made a great show.
I want to thank Mr Ronnie, and Miss Faye, for another fantastic production. Those of you who could not, or did not come, missed a super show. I hope things shape up for another one next year.. I know Mr Ronnie is tired, and probably will let this one be the last..But I know we are all saddened if there is not another.
Thank you again , all you great artists, and we have had a good run..
Peace and good health to all of you..May you have smooth sailing, fair winds, and following seas.

Had a great time at Ronnie's. Roy & Paul...your the best. I enjoyed talking with everyone, even though our stay was a short one.

Special thanks to Ronnie! I have never been to a show where the responsible party helped bring in equipment. Ronnie helped me get my gear in and out. It just goes to show what type of person he is. Now if I could just impose on him to send my black pants that I left behind.

Thanks to all in the audience...it would not be much of a show without you.
