| I just acquired a National reso-phonic solid body. I haven't been able to find any info on the net maybe 'some of you know what I've got (I know a pic would help but I don't have access to a camera right now). As I said it's solid body overall length is 34" with a 22" scale. It's covered with a white pearl-like plastic and the fretboard has stairstep fret markings like some of the electric lap models. The cone is 8" and serial#x66055 . Just from the construction I'm guessing it's some student madel. I'm not familiar with National instruments but I like the sound of it for bluesy stuff. |

| That's the guitar. Does anyone know anything about it? It belonged to a friend of mine and I paid his widow $300 for it I'm wondering if its worth spending anymore money on or if I should hang it on the wall. |

| Very cool guitars.A couple options would be to add a piezo to it or buy a 'Hotplate' from National that is basically a coverplate with a Lollar pick-up, vol and tone and input jack all on the cover. That way you could electrify it but be able to put it back to stock condition. |

$300 was a great deal. These are very collectible and quite rare.
You can't replace the cone or the coverplate as they are smaller than standard National items. Just enjoy it for what it is. My 1st reso was one of these and I used to enjoy confusing people who were looking for an amplifier when I played it!. |

| Thanks for the help fellas. The instrument was in pretty rough shape especially the cone. I've got it playing pretty good now and the more I play it the better I like it. I may eventually invest in a new bridge and cone it's definitly a keeper. |

I have one of these that I got in rough condition. The pickguard was missing and the body was kinda beat up. I didn't like the neck and scale, so I had an new old stock Danelctro neck (from the 60s) that I had a luthier friend install. I still have original neck hangin on a wall. It plays really nice now and my next step is to find a good sounding pickup for the cone, like the new National solid body electric resos. It actually looks just like one with the Dano neck.
