Supposed to be a big announcement at the Wynn Hotel/Resort/Casino tomorrow. The rumor is that Steve Wynn is going to announce that Garth Brooks will be the newest Vegas headliner and has just signed a multi year contract(16 weeks a year) with Wynn Resorts.

It's understandable - Groceries cost money, and that Brooks family looks like they use up a lot o' groceries....

We have been to a few shows in Vegas, when you didn't have to mortgage your shorts to buy a ticket.
I can't imagine what a show for Garth will cost, with all his gimmics, but I think I'll pass.

I've been out of town for a few days, but I just drove threw Vegas a few minutes ago and the town is already covered with "Garth" billboards.

This is what I heard about the deal. He is going to do 16 weekends a year for the next 5 years. Steve Wynn threw in a private jet so Garth can still live in Oklahoma and drive his kids to school every day, then fly to Vegas and do shows on the weekends. One show Friday night, two shows Saturday, and one show on Sunday.

Ticket prices are $125, cheaper than most all the other shows on the strip.

I heard Garth was going to do a duet album with Holly Dunn, and the duo would be touring in between his Vegas gigs.Heard later that they'd be doing some shows with Kix and Ronnie. Shocked

Will the REAL Brooks & Dunn please stand up?

The high light of the show is when Garth is lifted skyward like Peter Pan over the stage as he throws rose pedals down at the crowd. Vegas is the perfect place for him.

Alvin,

I don't know who originated it, but I heard it from Kinky when he and Willy Nelson were on tv.

i played a private business/party at a casino in vegas last sunday...saw garth's pic at the wynn....i wouldn't pay 12 bucks to see him play a single, even though i like garth. las vegas is a dirty scummy town with incredibly huge monuments to greed. one block away it's all dirty trash blown cement and burned-out people.

I'm with you about Vegas, Chris. For about 25 years now, whenever I have to drive through Vegas, I don't stop anywhere near the place.

I'm with you as well, Chris. Played the Nugget in 1969 - it was the same then. Unless your Garth or the like, the strip is the Boulevard of Broken Dreams ...

I'm jealous as hell because Garth got the Vegas gig and I didn't. He's the one that retired not me. Life is so full of disappointments.
