My Transtubefex when initially turned on displays "DSP Error Resetting", and constantly cycles on, off, on, off trying to reset.
What could be the problem?
I noticed at the same time the power plug receptacle on the board has become loose, is this in any way connected?
Thanks,
Chris |

Try a "factory reset" and see if that helps. The reset, unfortunatley, will erase any user programs.
Press and hold the down & right cursor on power up.
If this still has the battery (not been modified to the "batteryless mod), the batery leakage is a common problem and if it does leak it can damage the printed circuitry. |

Thanks.
It has the battery, But not reall any leakage, there is no damage. I can see there looks to be buid-up on the end of battery, but not bad.
The re-set will kill my presets, I am afraid of losing the settings, but if there is nothing else I can do... |

The unit is "broke" now. Any repairs, if you can even get it repaired, will do in your presets anyway. I always had a Peavey (or substitue Roland) memory card with all my user programs on it so resetting was not really an issue. Anyone with one of these units (or a TubeFex or Profex II) should have a memory card; it's like doing backups on a PC, it's not for "if" you will need it, it's for "when" you will need it.
Sadly, there are not many parts left for these units. About 5 years ago my Transtube Fex developed a problem and Peavey no longer had a replacement board for it. They "robbed" the main board out of Mike Brown's "test lab" system to repair mine. |

Like Jack said. Your presets are as good as lost. You might as well try to reset it. The battery will soon be leaking as well. If you get it running you need to replace the battery or do the battery-less memory upgrade.
If it had not suffered damage from battery acid it can likely be repaired at Peavey. I would not trust it to anyone else for that type of issue. |

Send it to;
Peavey Service Center
Attn; Mike Brown
412 Hwy. 80 East
Meridian, MS 39301
Include a note of symptoms and your daytime phone number. We won't really know if it can be repaired until we get it on the bench for testing. Normally, we can repair it.

Appreciate the help.
Didn't check back with this post for awhile.
Once I knew for sure the presets can't be saved even with a repair...I got the unit off my shelf, it's been there for weeks, and reset it.
It came right on and now works fine...well i just reset it so I haven't plugged any instruments in.
Don't know why it did this, but it said "Resetting" and then cyced over and over so I didn't think the hard reset would work.
Thanks again guys I will post to borrow some-one's Petersen presets which is what I had in it. |

In a matter of time that battery will leak and will ruin the unit.
The battery-less chip is 39.00 total shipped and easy for you to install.

Thanks, Ken.
I mean to get one, and now that I am using the unit again will try to do so quickly.
I have said since I bought the unit a year ago I would do so.
I played around with the presets/effects last night everything seems to work fine. |
