Evidently, he lives here in Santa Fe. Nice stuff. I will see if I can get a line on him. I would be interested in seeing what his stuff sounds like!

Estaban's work is unique and I find it fascinating and beautiful. His lap steels are simply stunning. I've always wondered how they are as musical instruments.

Its Art I think, but someone could get some very nice sounds out of those I'm sure, and as a builder myself, with a 5 gallon can in the garage, I can see how my winter months are going to go.

All my instruments are made to be played. The can is the perfect size box, stiff with no internal structure and a thin gauge metal, which allows for a large and rich tonality and incredible sustain. I got hooked after building just one.

James Kerr, go for it, just make sure you clean out the inside really well so that you don't blow yourself up when you cut into the can.

Thank you for your reply to the thread, I really admire your work. I do have that 5 gallon can ex ww2 colors and it will be used, although not to copy what you have done, I will put in some ideas of my own, the main thing I think is to have fun and enjoy ourselves.
