Hi
This has probably been talked about but, How is the quality of the new Emmons guitars as compaired to the older models everyone likes so much. I am thinking of buying a new Model LD10L 8 pedals, 4 knees to add to my collection. Any advice on what options to add.
Thanks
Rich

They are great guitars. I would get the counter force for sure. I also like the comp unit.

I bought my Emmons 1 and 1/2 years ago. I love it. Took a year and a half to get, but worth it.

As I read the website the Legrand III is the Legrand II with the counter force device. Am I right.
Would you get it on both necks?

Mike did you have a special order or something. They told me 6 months for a Model LD10L 8/4

To me, you won't find a better pedal steel guitar than a Emmons. And you see it all the time where somebody who once played a Emmons eventually wants to come back to a Emmons.

Taking into account a multitude of factors, on balance I would say that the Emmons Legrande III is the finest guitar I've had the pleasure to own and play. Mine is a lacquer body SD-10 with the counterforce and compensators (strings 2, 4, & 8) on the E9th neck.

I believe the Legrande is as good as any guitar being built today. The counterforce does what it says it will do. I have owned both the LG II and The III and I prefer the way the II plays and sounds. They both have the wonderful emmons sound but they have a slightly differnt tone to my ears. Either is a great choice. The counter force is only available on the E9 neck. This is just my personal opinion. Fred

Fred, the CounterForce is available on the C6 unless Emmons has decided to not offer it any longer. I know of several guitars that have it on both necks. The general thinking is that it is most appropriate on the E9 as drop isn't as critical on C6.

Roger you are correct. I thought at one time I read on the Emmons site that the counterforce was only available on the E9. I had just made my post here and looked at the For Sale section and there was a D10 with counterforce on both necks. That is why I TRY to practice more and post less. Fred

Keep posting Fred, any of us can get it wrong now and then. Emmons is still a great guitar and still competively priced as well.

Unfortunately, I have more time to post than practice! I can actually sneak in while I'm at work and nose around. I wish I could do the same with my pracice. Hook, thanks for the post on the Rev settings. I settled on something very close to what you use.
