What are your settings on your Peavey Nashville 112 and also your Chorus Box. I play a Emmons LaGrande III with 5 and four.All help is appreciated

I don't play and Emmons but here are the settings I use.
Bass +9 Mid -9 Shift 800 Tre -1 to +2 Pres -1 - +2

On NV 112: Bass, Treble & Presence = neutral to +1, Mid = -1 at 800, Reverb = zero to 1.
Don't use Chorus units. |

yes, and it is good to have "electronic enhancement" options for the odd cases when the raw steel-sound isn't "good enough". As my picking slowly improves towards what it once was - and hopefully beyond in time, I find fewer and fewer cases where the steel-sound doesn't cut it entirely on its own though. |

George,
I agree.... Artificial 'coloring' of the steel's sound works well when, for instance, laying down a pad in a 'non-country' song. I have a chorus setting in my effects unit that gets used maybe once a night.... provided the singer does that particular song. But, as they say, to each his own!

Again, not an Emmons, but:
bass +4.5
mid -12
shift at the 8 in 800
high & pres -3
reverb to taste
a little delay from a DD-3
This changes slightly from room to room, but is my starting point. |

Shift: Slightly CCW of the 8 in 800
High: +8
Presence: 0
Verb: 5ish
I use variations of these amp settings regardless of the guitar I'm playing. I don't own an Emmons, but I played one in the Derby room for a while on Saturday night and used something similar to this (with less treble). My guitars all have humbuckers in them, so you will need to adjust if you have single coils.
Also, any amp settings will vary drastically depending on whether you put the amp on the floor or an amp stand. I prefer to run the bass low because the amp can run louder on less power and because I like a very clear defined bottom end. If I'm playing a gig where I need something to get through the noise more, I'll cut the bass off and set the mid shift even more counterclockwise. I played a barn party a month or so ago and it was all I could do to eke enough power to balance the sound out front. |
